HOLY MOSES
line up: Sabina Classen (vocals)
Andy Classen (guitar)
Thomas Becker (bass)
Thilo Herrmann (guitar)
Ulli Kusch (drums)
In 1979 bassplayer Raymond Brusseler founds Holy Moses. But the first fact wort
h
remembering is in 1984, when Mr. and Miss Classen join the band. There are two
demo's recorded, "Walpurgis Night" and "The Bitch". When drummer Herbert Dreger
joins the band, they get a deal with Aaarrg-records and the album "Queen of
Siam" is recorded, but due to lack of experience and the short studio-time, it
hardly sounds better than a normal demo. Short after the release, they get
themselves a new bassplayer: Andre Chapelier. In 1987 the second album
"Finished with the Dogs" is released. This one's alot better than the first one
and thrash-fans like it. After the recordings bassplayer Andre leaves again.
In september of '87 a picture disc is released: the EP "Road Crew", with on the
backside the new songs "Current of Death" and "Life's Destroyer". This is done
to support the coming tour with D.R.I. and Holy Terror. This way, the public
also gets to know the new second guitarplayer Georgie. Because the band still
hasn't a new bassplayer, Johan Susant joins them temporarily during the tour.
After the tour Johan goes back to Target and Georgie leaves them to play in
Living Death. Finally they get a new bassplayer, Thomas Becker (ex-Darkness)
and a new guitarplayer, Thilo Herrmann (ex-Risk/Faithful Breath). Meanwhile
Sabina is well known, because of the TV-show "Mosh" (the European "Headbangers
Ball", only better). In september they get a deal with W.E.A. and they record a
third album, produced by Alex Perialas (Anthrax, S.O.D., Overkill). During
recordings Thilo Herrmann leaves again and they continue with one guitarplayer.
